So was that the scariest episode of “Pretty Little Liars” ever? Mary Drake popping up everywhere was terrifying.
Although the cast films it, they don’t see the episodes until they air and the screams and the jumps, I mean, my arm is black and blue from Ashley Benson grabbing me all night so I think it was a success.
How long ago did you plan the storyline with Mrs. D’s twin? Since the beginning?
Not since Season 1, but we started talking about it when Big A, Charlotte, stole the game from Mona and we started wrapping our brains around what the mythology of that character was. Since the Season 5 finale, fans have wanted to hear the end of the Charlotte story, but that’s not complete. I remember telling Andrea Parker that when Mrs. D died that we were going to see her for a long time so it was a few years ago that we really started launching this idea.
And she was just promoted to a series regular, so she’s not going anywhere.
Yes! Which make me very happy.
You’ve always said she is the true villain of the story. Did you say that because it tied into the twin storyline down the road?
You’ll find out more about that, but I will say that still holds to be true in many ways.
When will Ali find out that her mom had a twin? She can’t think she’s hallucinating forever.
That’s all part of the story moving forward. When we come back this summer, you’re going to find out a lot of answers. Season 7 is really the fastest-moving season we’ve ever had. It moves even quicker than Seasons 1 and 2, and you’re going to get answers almost on an episode-by-episode basis. So you’re going to get that answer really soon.
Is it safe to assume that Ali is in danger in the mental hospital?
Yes, it is safe to assume that! [laughing] Continue Reading at Variety
Mar 17, 2016 Posted by: andrea Posted in: The Show Replies: Comments Off on Pretty Little Liars’ Andrea Parker Reacts to Season Finale Twists, Previews Mary Drake’s Next Move: ‘I Love to Be Bad’
TVLINE | Mary seems like a huge departure from Jessica. How did you prepare to step into her shoes?
It was a quick turn. We started shooting right after we got the script at the table read, which was days before we shot the scenes with Mary. I didn’t have a lot of time to process what the character was going to be all about, so I just jumped in and flew by the seat of my pants.
TVLINE | At least you had Huw Collins there to help you through it.
I had just met him that day! I was so confused shooting that scene; I didn’t realize he has an English accent in real life, and Detective Wilden was there, and we were peeling each other’s faces off. It was a challenge to keep all of the information straight, but it was fun nonetheless. Come on, we all know how much I love to be bad.
TVLINE | So it must have been difficult for you to keep this all to yourself.
We shot this in October, so I’ve had this secret for six months, which has been really hard. I love the fans, we’re very close and I feel like I’ve been lying to them. I’m relieved that the secret is finally out.
TVLINE | Let’s talk about Mary’s look, which is very fun and dark. Are you a fan?
I think it’s amazing. Listen, I loved Jessica; she dressed with a lot of color, and she was very chic with her turned-up collars and little scarves. But she was also a little frumpy, so I’m excited to get away from those khakis. Mary, I’m assuming, wears a lot of black. She’s got an edge that I’m sure will be portrayed in her wardrobe. Mar 15, 2016 Posted by: andrea Posted in: Spoilers ,The Cast Replies: Comments Off on ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Star Keegan Allen on What to Expect in Tonight’s Finale
“Pretty Little Liars” star Keegan Allen says fans will be satisfied with tonight’s season finale.
“Expect a lot of twists and turns and something that will propel the show forward,” Allen, who plays police officer Toby Cavanaugh, told ABC News. “I have a feeling that a lot of the viewership will be satisfied tonight because it seemingly opens a final big can of worms that we will explore in season 7.”
One of the biggest reveals in the finale that fans are looking forward to is the twin theory that both the show and its executive producer Marlene King have teased throughout the series.
“There’s a twin theory — I can promise you — once Charlotte was revealed as ‘A’ there was a lot of speculation on twin theory, and tonight it’s kind of explored,” Allen, 26, said. “And the audience will be excited for sure about what happens.”
Allen’s character Toby, and Spencer Hastings, known together as “Spoby,” will also finally reunite in tonight’s episode. Toby and Spencer, the latter played by Troian Bellasario, spent much of the season apart because of their breakup before the show’s five year time jump. Their breakup was explained in a flashback that showed the couple had a pregnancy scare while Spencer was at Georgetown.
“It was a really painful scene to shoot. It was very intense,” Allen said. “This was something that went right out there and shed some light on real subjects that people deal with. Hats off to Freeform for doing that.” Continue Reading at ABC News
Mar 15, 2016 Posted by: andrea Posted in: Spoilers ,The Cast ,The Show Replies: Comments Off on EXCLUSIVE: ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Star Ashley Benson on ‘Emotional’ Season 6 Finale and Her Haleb Reunion Hopes: ‘Get Married and Have Kids!
Hell hath no fury like a Hanna scorned!
On tonight’s season six finale of Pretty Little Liars, Hanna is sick and tired of being bullied by this malicious and mysterious “Uber A,” so she’s setting a trap to take this new big bag down.
In order to get you even more excited for tonight’s sure-to-be jaw-dropping finale, ETonline caught up with PLL star Ashley Benson while she was promoting Buxom Cosmetics at Ulta Beauty in Los Angeles, to get the exclusive scoop on Hanna’s “tricky situation,” the twin twist, and why the actress is still devastated by Haleb’s breakup.
In the most recent episode, Hanna dropped a huge bombshell when she said to this new Uber A, “I’m the one that killed Charlotte — come after me.” I can assume this is not going to end well?
AB: I wish I could tell you how it ends! It’s a pretty tricky situation that Hanna is in, and she’s just done with the bullying and just wants to live a normal life. She’s ready to take the bait. So you guys will see what happens.
What was your reaction when you read this finale script?
AB: I was very excited. I got to do some really cool things, and the finale is very different from what we have done before. Obviously, there’s a lot of danger and searching, this and that, that we’ve had in other season finales, but this one, there is so many emotions. I think that’s why it’s one of my favorites because you get to see what happened to Hanna and Caleb and their break-up and there are super cool shots I got to do in the rain and it’s like slow motion. So I saw that in the preview and was like, “Yes!” I was screenshotting it because it was my rain moment because I never had one. But yeah, I think the fans are really going to like it and I think hopefully they are going to be left on their feet being like, “What just happened?” And there’s a twin that’s going to be revealed, so a lot of people think it’s going to be Hanna’s twin… Read more at E!Online
Mar 15, 2016 Posted by: andrea Posted in: Media ,Spoilers ,The Show Replies: Comments Off on ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Finale: Mrs. D Comes Back From the Dead (VIDEO)
“Pretty Little Liars” wraps up its sixth season Tuesday night, but before Season 6B comes to a close, a familiar face pops up back in Rosewood — or so it seems.
After last week’s episode, in which Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) saw her we-thought-she-was-dead mom in a “dream” when she was at the hospital, it looks like Mrs. D. (Andrea Parker) is back.
In this brand new clip (above), exclusively released to Variety by Freeform, Mrs. D appears in Alison’s doorway, looking like she literally just came back from the dead. Covered in dirt, she freaks out Ali — probably as much as she freaked out any viewers watching the footage — but by the time she looks again, her mom is gone. Perhaps thinking it was another dream, Ali goes downstairs and picks up the ringing phone to a dead-ish voice on the other side asking, “Did you miss me?” Continue Reading at Variety
